We are pleased to announce that Junior Boys Soccer (Years 1–3) will begin tomorrow, Friday 8 May 2026, from 3:45pm to 4:45pm from Term 2 onwards.

Please register your child through the school office. The fee is $25 per term.

The Senior Boys Soccer programme (Years 4–8) will be on Tuesdays and we hope to begin in Week 4, in shaa Allah. Further information will be shared once confirmed.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Next week (12th-15th May), our school will be celebrating Book Week! We are particularly excited to announce that this year, we will be placing a special spotlight on the Arabic language through a series of engaging classroom competitions.

Arabic Language Competitions
From Tuesday to Friday, students will have the opportunity to challenge themselves and showcase their skills during their scheduled Arabic classes. Our teachers will be guiding students through the following events:

• Spelling Marathon: To help your child feel prepared, the spelling list will be provided to all students to take home for practice. We will also provide time in class for students to revisit these words before the competition.
• Handwriting Competition: A chance for students to focus on the beauty and precision of Arabic script.
• Story Writing: Students are encouraged to start thinking about creative story ideas now!
• Participation & Support
  The goal of these competitions is to provide a fun, low-pressure environment for students to test their abilities. Please note:

No Admin Required: There is no registration form needed for your child to participate; all students are welcome and encouraged to join the fun in class.
No Stress for Parents: There is no need for extensive planning at home. We want this to be an enjoyable experience for the children.
Recognition: Every student who participates will receive a Certificate of Participation to celebrate their effort.
We kindly ask for your help in encouraging your children to join in. Whether they are confident or just starting out, there is so much to gain in terms of confidence and skill.

استعدوا لأسبوع الكتاب! (مع تركيز خاص على اللغة العربية)
أعزاءنا أولياء الأمور الكرام،

نحتفل في مدرستنا الأسبوع القادم بـ "أسبوع الكتاب"، ويسعدنا جداً أن نعلن أن هذا العام سيشهد تركيزاً خاصاً على اللغة العربية من خلال مجموعة من المسابقات الصفية الممتعة.

مسابقات اللغة العربية في الفترة من الثلاثاء إلى الجمعة، ستتاح للطلاب الفرصة لتحدي أنفسهم وإبراز مهاراتهم خلال حصص اللغة العربية. المسابقات هي:

ماراثون الإملاء: لمساعدة طفلكم على الاستعداد، سيتم توزيع قائمة كلمات الإملاء على جميع الطلاب للممارسة في المنزل. كما سنخصص وقتاً كافياً داخل الفصل للمراجعة.
مسابقة الخط العربي: فرصة للطلاب للتركيز على جمال وإتقان الكتابة بالخط العربي.
كتابة القصة: نشجع الطلاب على البدء بالتفكير في أفكار قصصية إبداعية من الآن!
المشاركة والدعم الهدف من هذه المسابقات هو توفير بيئة ممتعة وغير ضاغطة للطلاب:

لا يوجد نموذج تسجيل: لا يتطلب الأمر تعبئة أي نماذج؛ سيشارك جميع الطلاب تلقائياً خلال حصصهم الدراسية.
لا داعي للقلق: لا يتطلب الأمر تخطيطاً كبيراً من قبل أولياء الأمور؛ فنحن نريدها تجربة ممتعة للأطفال.
التقدير: سيحصل كل طالب يشارك على شهادة مشاركة تقديراً لجهوده.
نرجو منكم تشجيع أبنائكم على المشاركة التي ستجلب لهم الكثير من الثقة بالنفس.

نتطلع إلى أسبوع رائع مليء بالقراءة واللغة!

We are looking for volunteers to join Room 6 visit to the New Lynn Library next week on Tuesday, May 12th, from 11:15 am to 11:45 am.

If you are available to come along, please let me know. Could you also confirm if you have a current Police vet? If you’re keen to join but aren't vetted yet, don't worry—just reach out and we can get that sorted for you ASAP.

Please note that the boys soccer programme, which was planned to take place every Thursday, is currently not yet confirmed until further notice.

The school is also looking for a potential boys soccer coach. If you know anyone who may be interested and suitable for this role, please let the school know by contacting the school office.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Due to the current fuel shortage situation and the possibility of moving to Phase 2 or Phase 3, the school is working through a fuel shortage planning situation by preparing for a potential transition to online learning.

To help us plan and ensure all students can access learning from home if required, we ask that you please complete a short Device & Connectivity Survey as soon as possible.

The survey includes:

• Availability of a suitable device at home
• Access to reliable internet
• Number of devices compared to the number of school-aged children in your household

Your prompt response is very important and will allow us to identify and support families who may need assistance.

Please complete the form via Skool Loop at your earliest convenience and before May 15, 2026.  The New Zealand government has clearly stated we are still in Phase 1 of the Fuel Shortage Phases and have not said there is a move to another phase.  This school survey is simply for planning purposes only.
