Assalamu Alaikum Everyone,
I hope this message finds you well today.
Reflecting on the past two years as Principal of Iqra School, I am filled with immense gratitude for how warm, welcoming, and dedicated this community continues to be. Since joining in Term Three two years ago, following a wonderful transition alongside Dr. Stephen Kendall-Jones, it has been an absolute privilege to lead and grow alongside our incredible students, hard-working teachers, specialized staff, and supportive Board of Trustees.
Drawing on my two decades of experience in educational leadership—including my time at ACG Sunderland School and St. Cuthbert’s College—my passion for primary education, commitment to inclusivity, and dedication to raising student progress remain at the heart of everything I do. Over these past two years, it has been immensely rewarding to see our shared values in action and to watch our students thrive within the unique special character that makes Iqra School so extraordinary.
Thank you to all our parents, caregivers, and community members for your ongoing support, engagement, and collaboration. Together, we continue to cultivate a nurturing, respectful, and enriching environment where every student can succeed.

Assalamu Alaikum and Kia Ora Koutou, IQRA School formerly known as IQRA Elementary is a state-integrated area school catering to students from year 1 to year 8. IQRA was established in 2016 by our proprietors Algoritmi Educational Trust.
We are focused on providing quality education by developing our own IQRA special character curriculum. The IQRA special character curriculum is made up of Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic Language intertwined through the New Zealand Curriculum and the learning context. We also have formal Quran and Arabic language lessons.
We look forward to working with all of you on the journey to making our school a leading Islamic School in New Zealand that ensures our students stay connected with our faith, languages, cultures and strong heritage.

We are excited to share that our Annual Arabic Reading Journey Competition is approaching! We are so proud of all our participants and the great progress they have made in their Arabic reading journey so far.
As we get closer to the competition, please keep the following important dates in mind:
*Booklet Submission Deadline: August 28th, 2026
*Judging Period: Week 7 of Term 3, starting September 2nd, 2026
If your child hasn’t finished their booklet yet, there is still time! We encourage them to continue reading and completing their entries. We are here to support and assist them along the way, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any help.
Let’s continue to encourage our children and celebrate their love for the Arabic language and reading! We look forward to seeing their wonderful efforts and achievements.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We are seeking your valuable feedback as we develop our School Strategic Plan for 2027–2028.
Your views are important in helping us ensure that our strategic goals reflect the values, needs and aspirations of our students, whānau and wider school community.

Uniform Shop- New and used items
The school has purchased a number of uniform items from NZ Uniform that are all new products. If you would like to purchase these please at reduced prices similar to the Warehouse please see the school reception on Tuesdays at 8:30am to organise this. Our second hand uniform shop continues to operate as well at this time.
If you prefer to purchase new from The Warehouse please copy the barcode numbers (attached) into the Warehouse website link and the item will come up. Then you can choose which store to pick it up or have it delivered.

Attached is the barcode for all the uniforms, please copy and paste the barcode into the warehouse website and check the size for your child.
I hope that most students are able now to have access to the uniforms they require.

Dear Parents and Caregiver,
School photo day is approaching! On Tuesday, 18 August, PhotoLife will be taking individual and class photos, as well as sibling photos.
Please ensure your child brings their green school jacket to wear for their photo.
If you would like your children to have a photo taken together, please keep an eye out for a consent form coming home today.
